Dear Editor
We read the editorial on “The Plague of Plagiarism: Prevention and Cure!!!” with a great interest [1]. The editor concludes that “good ethical research practices as mentioned above will constitute a definite step towards scientific evolution which will help us go in improving quality of health of women and the community at large [1].” Indeed, the plagiarism is not uncommon and there are many plagiarisms published in several Obstetrics and Gynecology journals. The prevention and management of the plagiarism is an interesting issue. Among several given reasons, if it is not an accidental plagiarism due to the error, in the publication process, any other kinds of plagiarisms, regardless of degree of severity, are considered intentional and should be considered unethical and needs proper management [2]. The collaboration to perform a surveillance monitoring against plagiarism is recommended, and we should neglect any forms of plagiarism. The education is important for the academic beginner, and there should be a good role model. However, there are sometimes bad role models. In our country, the plagiarism by the senior or professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology is observed, but there is usually no good management of the case [3]. To prevent plagiarism, the ethical background is the most important factor. How to promote the responsibility for “no steal behavior” should be a very important issue in biomedical education. For management of the problem, if we would like to cure, there must be a single standard procedure for management of the problem for everyone.
Conflict of interest None.
